Everyone has their own opinion about what specifically is wrong with social media, but the currency of likes is a commonly-cited issue. The latest grab bag of Instagram test features dug up by Jane Manchun Wong includes a version that doesn’t let the audience see how many likes a post gets.
Based on the code found in the app the company is seriously considering hiding the number of likes that a post receives and instead focuses on who liked the image.

The photo sharing site is testing a design change that would hide how many people have liked a post, tipster Jane Manchun Wong tweeted Thursday.
“We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get,” reads an Instagram app screenshot Wong shared. “During this test, only the person who shared a post will see the total number of likes it gets.
