A 13-year-old girl is on life support two days after a fight on campus at Attucks Middle School.
Kashala Francis‘ mother Mamie Jackson says her daughter was attacked by two girls after school on Thursday. A third girl jumped in and kicked Kashala in the head.
When the teen returned home from the attack, she had a bruise on her face but told Jackson she was fine.
While staying at a relative’s house over the weekend, Kashala complained that her head was hurting and went to sleep. Jackson added that by the time first responders arrived to the scene, Kashala was already unconscious.
“And we found out she has a large tumor in the back of her head, and she had fluid buildup in her brain,”
Doctors reported that it is too early to determine if the tumor was part of a pre-existing condition or if the fight was a major factor to
Kashala’scondition. The assault is currently being investigated by the Houston Police Department and HISD.
A statement was released by the HISD:
“The district is aware that several Attucks Middle School students were involved in an off-campus altercation on Thursday. HISD is gathering information and cooperating with the Houston Police Department in its investigation.”
