Well it looks like Bill Cosby has one less thing to worry about. The former actor has paid off his $1.8M tax lien.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the State of California Franchise Tax Board filed a release of lien for Cosby and his wife Camille.
Cosby was hit with the lien last August, just one day after Cosby’s lead defense attorney in his retrial asked to be removed from the case. The lien was for $1.8 million in back taxes stemming from 2015.
While this is good news for the disgraced actor, Bill Cosby has bigger problems on his hands. He’s currently a resident of Pennsylvania’s State Correctional Institute at Phoenix, serving his to three to 10 years tome sentence for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home 14 years ago.
According to reports, Cosby can’t handle the slammer! He reportedly wants out and Cosby’s lawyers claim that the sentence he was given is more harsh than necessary, and state the fact that the actor is 81 years old and blind as a reason to overturn his conviction. Despite that, it looks like he just won’t be getting it anytime soon.
