At least a dozen employees of Heights Elementary School dressed as a border wall and in stereotypical Mexican costumes on Halloween.
An Idaho school is currently under fire after teachers and administrators dressed up as Mexicans with sombreros while others dressed as portions of the “MAGA” wall. According to reports, Middleton Heights Elementary School is made up of 13% Latino students in the small town of Middleton just outside of Boise.
The superintendent of the school, Josh Middleton, made a statement regarding the incident saying that Middleton Heights’ staff is better than this before adding, “Do I think there was a malicious intent in this poor decision? No, I don’t, […] Was there a poor judgment involved? Absolutely. And we now have to own those decisions."
The school district said that the matter is under investigation.
