Lady GaGa is the face of Vogue magazine’s October 2018 issue!
Lady Gaga’s natural, undone look on the Vogue cover mimics that of her on-screen character in A Star Is Born; and in fact, going makeup-free actually helped her get the role. According to the Los Angeles Times, Bradley — who co-wrote the screenplay and directed the film, in addition to co-starring in it — reportedly used a makeup wipe to remove Lady Gaga’s makeup himself at her audition because he reportedly wanted to see her “completely open.” The move, as Nylon noted, garnered mixed feedback (“creepy” and “chauvinistic” were some of the words thrown around on Twitter)
Check out what the 32-year-old A Star Is Born superstar shared with the mag below:
On her Malibu, CA abode: “This is my sanctuary. My oasis of peace. I call it my ‘gypsy palace.’ I just got rid of my place in New York—it was too hectic every day outside on the street.”
On if she is happy: “Yes—I’m focusing on the things that I believe in. I’m challenging myself. I’m embarking on new territory—with some nerves and some overjoyment. It’s an interesting time in my life. It’s a transition, for sure. It’s been a decade.”
On what has changed in her life over the past decade: “A galaxy. There has been a galaxy of change…I would just say that it’s been a nonstop whirlwind. And when I am in an imaginative or creative mode, it sort of grabs me like a sleigh with a thousand horses and pulls me away and I just don’t stop working….You make friends, you lose friends, you build tighter bonds with people you’ve known for your whole life. But there’s a lot of emotional pain, and you can’t really understand what it all means until ten years has gone by.”
