The 19-month-old daughter of U.S. Olympic skier Bode Miller drowned in a Southern California swimming pool.
Miller and his wife Morgan were attending a neighbor’s party on Sunday. Moments after, their daughter Emeline ended up in a pool but it was unclear as to how long she was in the water. Orange County Fire and paramedics arrived at the scene to perform CPR on the toddler but were unable to resuscitate her. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead a day after the incident.
Bode and his wife confirmed their daughter’s death via social media:
“We are beyond devastated. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to its fullest everyday."
Emeline is the youngest child out of Bode’s four children.
