Ex-NFL player Anthony McClanahan was detained by police on suspicion of murdering his wife, Keri McClanahan, 28, outside of their Utah condo on November 2. However, details about the murder did not hit the public until Monday after McClanahan’s first meeting in front of a judge.
The prosecution noted that police were flagged down by Anthony McClanahan following the murder who was seen crawling on his stomach before convulsing said the officers on the scene. Officers also described the scene as “bloody” and noted that Keri put up a struggle during the incident. She had several cuts to the front, back, and sides of the neck as well as carpet burns and other defensive wounds.
Since McClanahan’s arrest, information about the couple’s relationship has surfaced which reveals a history of domestic abuse to which McClanahan attributed to the multiple head injuries he suffered while playing football.
Anthony McClanahan played his college career at Washington State University before playing four years with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League and made it to Cowboys training camp in 1994 but never made it on the field.
