Venus Williams Files Emergency Protective Order in Car Crash Lawsuit

Gigionthat.com has learned that tennis star Venus Williams was involved in a deadly car crash in Florida that left an older man named Jerome Barson dead two weeks later. Now, Williams and her lawyers have filed an emergency protective order related to the inspection of her car.

Linda Barson, the wife of Jerome Barson noted in her accident report that she was not able to avoid Williams’ SUV as she came into the intersection. However, Williams claims that she entered her SUV into the intersection during a green light, but came to a halt in the middle of the intersection due to traffic. Williams noted that she did not see the Barson’s vehicle before entering the intersection.

Because of Jerome Barson’s death, a wrongful death suit was filed against Williams by his estate. According to E! News, court documents filed on July 5, 2017, by Williams’ legal team filed a motion to prevent Barson’s estate as well as his lawyers from inspecting her Hyundai Accent and data from the car. The legal team noted that there was a concern of evidence being lost or destroyed while in the midst of being inspected.
