Nicki Minaj’s accused pedophile brother is one step closer to having his day in court. Jelani Maraj’s child sex abuse case has been sent to a grand jury, the first major step in Maraj’s case being brought to trial.
Long Island, N.Y. police arrested Maraj, 37, late last year after a 12-year-old girl said he’d been raping her for several months – and the last rape occurred one day before his arrest.
Maraj’s case – currently in Nassau County Supreme Court’s sex crimes division – was sent to a grand jury March 3, court officials told BOSSIP, and the Nassau County District Attorney is working with the panel to determine whether or not they should indict him.
And now trial is right around the corner for him.
During grand hey hearings, the jurors hear from witnesses and review the evidence.
If he is convicted, he’s looking at 50 years in jail.
